“We have aided in the footwork. No, we are the footwork.”

That turn is powerful. The sun becomes both goddess and accusation, transforming oppressive heat into something humanity has helped summon upon itself.

Visceral. Inventive. Unsettling. I'M SUBSCRIBING!

I write at The Reflective State, where one of my ongoing series is Mountain Mysteries—atmospheric tales of mystery, folklore and the unexplained set in the mountains of India.

If curiosity ever brings you my way, I'd genuinely love to know what you think.

Sometimes nature stops feeling like something outside us and becomes a reflection of what we helped create. That “we are the footwork” makes it impossible to remain mere spectators.

The fucking sun is choke slamming people up in here!!!!!!

Beatiful imagery, Holly. You painted the picture so well, you probably didn't even need to tell us the goddess was the sun at the beginning, and just let us revel in her mystique as you built her up.
